FACT FILE: F1 Britain, WEC Monza, IMSA Lime Rock, NASCAR NHMS

1. Formula 1 ‘Pirelli British Grand Prix’

• Race Date: Sunday, July 18, 2021
• TV: TSN3/5 at 9:55A to 12:00n (EDT)

VENUE:
• Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone, England
• 5.891 km (3.661 mi) 18-turn circuit, clockwise direction
• The Silverstone circuit was built on an ex-WWII bomber airfield. The configuration of the racing circuit has been extensively changed over the years. The current circuit configuration has been used since 2011.

THE EVENT:
• Race distance is 52 laps = 306.198 km (190.3 mi)
• The hardest three tire compounds in the Pirelli range will be used: C1 (hards), C2 (mediums) and C3 (softs). Moreover, they will supply 12 sets of slicks rather than 13, with two sets of C1s, four sets of C2s and six sets of C3s available this weekend. In case of rain, up to six intermediate sets and three wet sets of tires will be available.
• F1 Sprint will be a race run on Saturday over 100km (in Silverstone's case, 17 laps) and lasting around 25-30 minutes. Points will be awarded to the top three finishers, three for the winner down to one point for third. The finishing order of the race will define the grid for Sunday’s showpiece event – the Grand Prix, where the traditional format will remain unchanged.

PREVIOUS RESULTS: 
• Last year the British GP was held here at Silverstone on August 2nd. Podium Results: 1. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), 2. Max Verstappen (Red Bull), 3. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).
• The most recent Grand Prix this year was the Austrian Grand Prix on July 4th. Podium Results: 1. Max Verstappen (Red Bull), 2. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), 3. Lando Norris (McLaren).

2. FIA World Endurance Championship ‘6 Hours of Monza’
• Race Date: Sunday, July 18, 2021
• TV: Discovery Velocity at 5:30A to 12:30P (EDT)

THE VENUE:
• Autodromo Nazionale di Monza (aka Monza Circuit), Monza, Italy
• 5.793 km (3.600 mi) 11-turn asphalt circuit, clockwise direction
• Note that this circuit, which was originally laid out in 1922 has had a number of different configurations, notably a road-course style layout (as used today), a high-banked Indy-style oval, and a combination of the two run together. The movie ‘Grand Prix’ featured the combination circuit and hence the high-banked oval portion even though the oval had not been used for any racing events since 1969 and had not been used for a Grand Prix since 1961. The current specific configuration has been used since 2000.

THE EVENT:
• A six-hour time duration event.

PREVIOUS RESULTS:
• The WEC has never held a round in its series at the Monza Autodrome. The most recent comparable event was the European Le Mans Series ‘4 Hours of Monza’ on May 13, 2018 which had the LMP2 cars as the featured class. Podium Results: 1. • The most recent WEC event this year was the 8 Hours of Portmão in Portugal on June 13th. Podium Results (Hypercar): 1. No. 8 Toyota (Buemi/Nakajima/Hartley), 2. No. 7 Toyota (Conway/Kobayashi/Lopez), 3. No. 36 Alpine (Negrao/Lapierre/Vaxivière)

3. IMSA WeatherTech ‘Northeast Grand Prix’ at Lime Rock Park
• Race Date: Saturday, July 17, 2021
• TV: Discovery Velocity at 3:00P to 6:00

VENUE:
• Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT
• 1.50 mi (2.41 km) 7-turn road-course style circuit, clockwise direction
• Due to its short lap distance this track does not accommodate well a large field or a field of very fast cars. Hence, in recent years the IMSA race here has been restricted to the GT class (or similar) cars only.

THE EVENT:
• Time duration race: 2 hours, 40 minutes (or 160 minutes)

PREVIOUS RESULTS:
• This race was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent time this event was run was on July 20th in 2019. Podium Results: (GTLM): 1. Ford GT (Briscoe/Westbrook); GTD: 1. No. 9 Porsche (Olsen/Robichon).
• The most recent IMSA WeatherTech race was the 160-minute race at Watkins Glen on Friday, July 2nd and it included all the classes, prototype and GT. Among the GT runners the Podium Results were: GTLM: 1. No. 3 Corvette C8.R (Garcia/J. Taylor); GTD 1. No. 1 Lamborghini (Sellers/Snow).

4. NASCAR Cup Series ‘Foxwoods Resort Casino 301' at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

THE VENUE:
• New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, NH
• 1.058 mi (1.703 km) asphalt oval, variable (progressive) banking in the turns at 2-7 degrees

THE EVENT:
• 301 laps = 318.46 mi; Stages: 75/110/116 = 301 laps
• No practice or qualifying sessions for the NASCAR Cup or NASCAR Xfinity series cars.

PREVIOUS RESULTS:
• Last year the NASCAR Cup Series raced here on Sunday, August 2nd. Podium Results: 1. Brad Keselowski (Ford), 2. Denny Hamlin (Toyota), 3. Martin Truex (Toyota).

THE EVENT:
• 200 laps = 211.6 mi; Stages: 45/45/110 = 200 laps
• No practice or qualifying sessions for the NASCAR Cup or NASCAR Xfinity series cars.

PREVIOUS RESULTS:
• The most recent NASCAR Xfinity race at NHMS was run on July 20, 2019 (no Xfinity race last year). Podium Results: 1. Christopher Bell (Toyota), 2. Cole Custer (Ford), Justin Allgaier (Chevrolet).
• The most recent Xfinity race this year was at Atlanta last Saturday, July 10th. Podium Results: 1. Kyle Busch (Toyota), 2. Jeb Burton (Chevrolet), 3. Noah Gragson (Chevrolet).
