The long awaited 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series Schedule will be announced tomorrow morning (Sept.10) at the Milwaukee Mile at 11:55 am ET. The announcement will be streamed live on www.indycar.com. An historic one mile oval that has hosted Indy car racing since the 1930s, the Milwaukee Mile will return to the IndyCar schedule after missing the cut in 2010 due to financial problems connected to the previous promoter of IndyCar and NASCAR events. Sixteen dates are expected to be confirmed tomorrow with a 17th to be announced later. Several reports have suggested the 17th date will be a season-ender at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile oval owned by Speedway Motorsports Inc. If a deal with Las Vegas cannot be worked out, the IndyCar series could return to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. The last IndyCar race at the two mile oval was in 2005. Check back here tomorrow for complete 2011 schedule details.
