FACT FILE: IMSA Roar Before the 24 at Daytona

• Official Race Name: IMSA WeatherTech Roar Before the Rolex 24 – Motul Pole Award 100
• Event Date: Friday, January 22 to Sunday, January 24, 2021
• Race Date: Sunday, January 24, TV: Discovery Velocity at 2:00P-4:00

• VENUE: Daytona International Speedway road course. A 3.56 mi (5.73 km) road course which is made up of an infield road course section and most of the oval track (joining the oval just before NASCAR Turn #1 and continuing around through the other tree corners and past the frontstretch pit lane. There is a chicane, commonly called the ‘bus stop chicane’ located on the backstretch closer to NASCAR Turn #3. Once the cars pass the Start/Finish line on the oval they dive down into the infield.



• Special COVID considerations: no infield camping, six-foot spacing, no fan access to garages or pit road.
• Race distance: 100 minutes
• Previous winner of this event: This is a new event, no previous winner
• Winner of the most recent IMSA WeatherTech event: Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring (Nov 14/20). DPi: 1. Mazda (Jonathan Bomarito/Harry Tincknell/Ryan Hunter-Reay), 2. Acura (Juan Pablo Montoya/Dane Cameron/Simon Pagenaud), 3. Mazda (Oliver Jarvis/Tristan Nunez/Olivier Pla).
• This 100-minute qualifying race will set the starting grid for the 59th Rolex 24 on Jan. 30-31. It will include all five WeatherTech Championship classes and will require two drivers per car. The LMP2, LMP3 and GT Daytona (GTD) classes will be required to use Pro-Am driver lineups as in normal WeatherTech Championship sprint races.
