Irish Mike’s Racing is new to Grand-Am competition, but carries with it a tremendous history of success in the semi-pro ranks. The proof came when he entered the season-opening World Challenge races in St. Petersburg and won them both! Shortly after, Mike asked me to come to Roebling Road in Savannah to help test and further develop the team’s cars. I was very impressed with speed and development of the cars. Great job, guys!
Josh Hurley is a great friend as well as one of the drivers I most respect in pro racing. An invitation to return to his old stomping grounds at the Miami GP kart track for a two hour enduro was too good to turn down. We won! What
a blast. Big kudos goes out to Rudy Ramsaroop and the staff at Miami GP Raceway. The track is open to the public so if you’re ever in Florida check it out! www.miamigpraceway.com
A few years ago, the BMW CCA racing club created a new category featuring a spec car designed to create super competitive racing at a super low cost. The result, the Spec E 36, is one of the most cost-effective racing categories out there and I’m a huge fan. I drove three cars run by different teams and they all lapped within 0.2 sec of another! Check out the series when it visits Calabogie (July 16-18), Mont Tremblant (Aug. 6- 8) and Mosport (Sept. 10-12).
